Ethel Robinson was born February 12, 1890[?]. She attended the Northwestern University School of Oratory and was a member of its class of 1912. While a student, Robinson was an active member of Zeta Phi Eta, the professional fraternity of communication arts and sciences. After completing her education at Northwestern, Robinson married Paul N. Grubb (Northwestern University Liberal Arts, 1910; Law School, 1913). The couple had two children.
